Outdoor Visitation Guidelines

It is critical that we follow the visitation guidelines for the collective good of everyone—residents, staff and families. Not following the guidelines does not just place you or your individual resident at risk—it places everyone at risk. Many facilities are still not allowing outdoor visitation, but we have chosen to do so as long as the guidelines are followed. Please review the following:

  • Outdoor visitation cannot be allowed until 14 days after newly admitted to the facility. Window visits are allowed during this time (and any time after). Please be certain the window remains closed.
  • All visits must be scheduled through SignUpGenius (click on links on right). No visits are allowed without appointments and outside of the designated visitation areas.
  • No physical contact during the visit, and social distancing must be observed. Masks must be worn by visitors and residents.
  • No food or drink during the visit.
  • If you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, or have experienced symptoms, do not come and visit. You should self-quarantine for 14 days before coming to visit.
  • No pets.
  • Visits have to be scheduled at least a day in advance through SignUpGenius.
  • No more than three visitors per resident per visit. Visits will be 25 minutes in length.
  • Visitors will have their temperatures taken as well as will be asked about symptoms/exposure. This information will be logged as required for recordkeeping purposes.
  • Two visits per week per resident will be the maximum to allow all residents and families opportunity for visits.
  • Facility staff will oversee the visits, ensuring furniture, etc. is sanitized between visits and the visiting schedule is followed. Hand sanitizer will also be available for residents and visitors.
  • Due to CDC guidance discouraging use of masks on children under the age of two, all visitors have to be over the age of 2.
  • The visitation areas will be set up to handle some degree of inclement weather (roof overhand/umbrella), however, in the event of a thunder/lightning storm, visitations should not be resumed until 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder or lightning flash.
